Wanted: Health Club

We've spent the other Saturday just lying in bed. Our backs were as sore as they could be, and that goes for Xiane (our 1 and 10 month old daughter) too. So we're going out tonight to look for a health club to join in. Imagine this: swimming from morning till afternoon on a sunny weekend, using a sauna or a jacuzzi to soothe tired muscles, or trying all the equipments in their gym, or how about playing tennis or snooker too? Ahhhhhh. That's why we're off going to Hilton tonight to see their facilites and see how much it's going to cost us. Actually, we were at Gulf Hotel last Friday with Ricardo. He is a close friend of ours from Saudi and he was staying at Gulf Hotel for the weekend so he decided to invite us to spend an afternoon in the pool. We really enjoyed it especially Xiane. So wish us luck tonight in our Health Club hunting and hope that this weekend wouldn't be too much of a bore.

My Wife is an Addict!

If there is one thing that my wife would like to share everybody back home is that she found the best place to get Pizza so I'm posting this for her. Eversince we came to Bahrain, it's like we ordered twice a week to get a taste of Papa John's Super Papas pizza. It is, for us, the best Pizza we've ever tasted. I have been telling her about this since I was able to have a taste of it in Jeddah (they didn't have Papa John's in Khobar, KSA) but of course, tasting the real thing is different from just hearing it. The dough is good, tasty, not too thick and not too chewy. The Pizza sauce tastes fresh and not too sour nor sweet. So evertime I ask her if she wants to order a Pizza at Papa John's, her face lights up and eyes widen much like a kid being given a big wrapped-up gift for Christmas. Now she's addicted to it and I can't help it - coz I too love it!

Start of a Brand New Day!

It is the start of a brand new day. I have been fascinated with blogging ever since but never really found time to do it (or was I too lazy?). So here I am, trying to psyche myself into blogging, finding time and putting effort to it. I've always liked writing so hopefully I'll find my way back to my roots (hey, I spent 2 years in college with Journalism as my Major). This also reminds me of our 3rd year highschool "diary" but way back then, you only had to use a pen and paper to start. Now everything is being touted as "digital" and "online". Anyway, I'm a Senior Web Designer for a company in Bahrain. My family and I moved here just 2 months ago after 5 years of work in Saudi Arabia. Resigning from my previous company was tough decision to make as it provided stable work and a very good income but sometimes, money doesn't weigh as much when it comes to family concerns. Although a single bridge separates Saudi and Bahrain, we knew life here would be different. Not to say that living in Saudi is bad (you eventually get used to it) but Bahrain is an "open" country: women can drive, cinemas abound, nightlife is blooming, and people are happier. Thus, the decision to move here was basically about living a more normal life. Although it didn't hurt that I also liked the idea of joining a Media company and knowing that my career with this company would eventually lead to my other goals. After spending 2 months here, I could say that every risk we took paid off. We are alive and well in the land of Bahrain!
